Some people gave a party
on a balmy summer night
Their neighbors were invited
and their friends from left and right
A sign was on a fence post
at the entrance to the drive:
"Keep your social distance
if you want to stay alive"
A good man took this sage advice
and posted it in braille
The band set up on stage and played
A Whiter Shade of Pale
The guests all started dancing
A heart on every sleeve
But some refused to wear a mask
and they were asked to leave
And so two tribes were born that night
where there'd been only one
And neither has forgotten
what the other tribe has done
