so my eyes are closed
and my mind is on its own
It all unfolds
as I blissfully doze
and I’m in the limbo zone
I call to make a reservation
for idyllic transportation
on a choo-choo railway train
from here to there and in between
and places where I’ve never been
Then I say all that again
My bags are filled with feathers
(I prefer to travel light)
and umbrellas will appear if it should rain
My seat is facing sideways
and the sun is out tonight
There is nothing quite like traveling by train
The rattle and the rumble of the locomotive wheels
The flock of friendly penguins deftly serving all our meals
The view from carriage windows so much better when we find
that the TV in the carry-on was somehow left behind
The engine driver whistles
There’s a tunnel up ahead
And everybody’s laughing
but we don’t know what he said
Then it’s morning without warning
and I’m lying awake in bed
