The Glacier and the Shooting Star

A glacier and a shooting star
were on their second date
discussing their compatibility
The shooting star was keen to leave
before it got too late
but the glacier favored immobility

If you loved me you would hurry up,
the shooting star complained,
I am simply not the dilly-dally kind
But it’s hard to change a habit
that’s indelibly ingrained
and the glacier very slowly changed his mind

Some say love can move a mountain
and two hearts can beat as one
And some may fall in love
but some just fall
So if someone barely moving 
yearns for someone on the run 
there is probably some writing on the wall
