I put my trust in the market
and got severely burned
the foxes were guarding the hen house
as I’ve subsequently learned
They put my wealth to work for them
and promised me a fee
then gambled with my precious funds
and made a fool of me
I didn’t give them all I had
I’m so relieved to say
instead I bought some memories
that will never melt away
