Do Not Disturb

On my next vacation 
(which can't come too soon) 
I'm not doing anything 
that starts before noon

I will not be bullied 
or tempted with prizes 
to get up and do things 
before the sun rises

No hiking, no biking 
no paddling canoes 
no scavenger hunting 
with baffling clues

Those sunrise activities 
will just have to wait: 
when I'm on vacation 
I like sleeping late

Some say starting early 
is simply superb 
but the sign on my doorknob 
says "Do Not Disturb!"
