Cousins

I have some cousins here 
and I have some cousins there 
if I could have my way 
I'd have some cousins everywhere

I'd like a few in Katmandu 
and a couple more in Rome 
and two or three on Waikiki 
with a home away from home

They could pick us up at the airport 
and drive us off in style 
install us in their residence 
and let us stay a while

We can always count on cousins 
like an ark in a time of flood 
our fathers and mothers were sisters and brothers 
they're our very own flesh and blood

I think we should salute them all 
they're such a splendid bunch 
let's designate a Cousin's Day 
and take them all to lunch
