Mad Broccoli Disease

We’re told we live in perilous times
when cautious ways are best,
for danger lurks at every turn
to put us to the test.

And now a truly wretched curse
has brought us to our knees,
as one by one we’re stricken with
mad broccoli disease.

The broccoli is a loathsome thing,
a scourge we must defeat,
compared to which the spinach plant’s
delectable to eat.

But if you choose to gorge yourself, 
on you-know-what and cheese,
you’re doomed for you already have
mad broccoli disease!
