I’m an ordinary man
of fairly modest means
I’m comfortable in t-shirts
and non-designer jeans
My diet’s mainly chicken soup
with boiled rice and beans
And you’ll never read about me
in the glossy magazines
I’ve learned to seek fulfillment
in the bosom of my clan
I stop and smell a fragrant rose
as often as I can
And I’m glad that in the course of time
