Rich

On a lonely road in the mountains
a man, devoid of hope
took one last look at his life and times
then came to the end of his rope

His band of friends and minstrels
all wept in disbelief,
his kinfolk brought their broken hearts
and bowed their heads in grief

They formed a family circle
beneath a catalpa tree
where Rich embraced them one by one
and then they set him free
