One Thing Leads to Another

If one thing leads to another
I wonder what led you to me?
like a restless river born in the hills
that finds its way to the sea

If one thing leads to another
I wonder what led me to you?
like a homing pigeon cast to the winds
that flies to its rendezvous

If one thing leads to another
then what led love to my heart?
and wove our lives so closely together
I can no longer tell them apart
