The Good Green Earth

My house needs electricity
my car needs gasoline
my carbon footprint makes the Earth
a little less pristine

I hear the talk of climate change
the global warming buzz
I used to think it made no sense
but now I think it does

If I weren't such a lazy man
or so undisciplined
I'd give more thought to solar power
and harnessing the wind

I dream that one day we'll create
a truly clean machine
and wake to see my planet swathed
in deeper shades of green
