What Are You Doing?

I wonder what you're doing
when I call you on the phone:
are you slumming with the hoi polloi
or splendidly alone?

Are you sitting in the dining car
on some exotic train,
or somewhere in the jungle
taking shelter from the rain?
Are you golfing on a fairway
standing tensely at the tee,
or lounging in your undies
watching videos on TV?

It seems natural to wonder
when I hear but cannot see
And then of course I wonder
what you're wondering about me
